Jeff VanderMeer, local author with an international following, will discuss how he transformed his yard into a wildlife haven– removing invasives and planting over 300 native species (all without using herbicide or fertilizer). This “rewilding” of his yard has resulted in an abundance of biodiversity seen on the property– box turtles, possums, over 90 species of birds along with hundreds of bees, wasps, butterfly and moth species.
